Group Ski Lessons at Snowflake: Who They’re For and How They Differ from Private Lessons

This winter, for the first time, our Snowflake Academy ski school is adding group lessons to its lineup. They’re designed for kids and teens up to 15 who already handle the basics of skiing and want to keep improving in a group – at a friendlier price than a private lesson. In this article, you’ll find out how a lesson works, who it’s right for, how it differs from a private one, and how to sign up.

How a Group Lesson in Jasná Works

The essentials at a glance:

  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Time: fixed slot 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (always double-check the current time on the ski school page in case it changes).
  • Price: €49 per person.
  • Group size: 3 to 7 kids per instructor.
  • Age: kids and teens up to 15.
  • Location: exclusively on the GrandJet A3 lift – for safety reasons.
  • Dates: from Jan 18 to Feb 28, 2027.
  • Instructors: certified.

Each lesson is led by a certified instructor looking after no more than seven kids. Since it’s a group, they adapt the pace and content to its level – and that’s exactly the key factor when deciding whether it’s the right fit for your kids.

Who Are Group Lessons For?

Group lessons are for kids and teens up to 15. You’ll appreciate them if you’re signing up a child who’s no longer a complete beginner. They’re ideal for someone who already knows the basics and wants to polish their technique and keep moving forward with their skiing.

Before the lesson, your child should already know the basics of skiing – especially stopping safely and making a basic snowplow turn. Complete beginners who haven’t really spent time on skis yet would hold the rest of the group back – a private lesson is a better choice for them.

And one more thing, to be upfront: in a group, the instructor focuses most on the weakest skier to help them catch up with the others. So the pace is set by them. If your child wants to progress as fast as possible at their own pace, a private lesson will serve them better.

Group vs. Private Lessons

Simply put: a group lesson is more affordable and more fun with others, while a private lesson is faster and more flexible. For complete beginners or maximum progress, we recommend a private lesson.

How to Sign Up

Booking is easy – book your group lesson online, by phone, or by email.

Don’t have your own group? No problem. Individuals can sign up too. If at least three people book the same slot, a group lesson is formed. If fewer than three sign up, the lesson for that slot is canceled and we refund your money.

And if the lesson doesn’t fill up, we offer a private lesson at the current price list as an alternative – so your child doesn’t miss out on their time on the slopes.

Good to Know Before the Lesson

Weather: in bad weather, there’s no backup program – the lesson has to be canceled or rescheduled. Keep an eye on the forecast and count on the possibility of a date change.

Equipment: if your child doesn’t have their own skis, boots, or helmet, they can rent a full set right here at our Snowflake ski rental. For beginner skiers, it’s a completely normal and practical option.

Book Your Group Ski Lesson

A group lesson is a great way for your child to improve their skiing with others at an affordable price. If you’re not sure about their level or want faster progress, go for a private lesson. Either way, it takes just one click – book a group or private lesson.
